Will not: لَنْ
To say something will not happen, put لَنْ (lan) before the present verb and change its last vowel from -u to -a: يَذْهَبُ → لَنْ يَذْهَبَ (he will not go). Do not add سَـ after لَنْ.

Key points
- Three ways to say “not” with verbs: لَا أَشْرَبُ I don’t drink (now or usually) · لَمْ أَشْرَبْ I didn’t drink · لَنْ أَشْرَبَ I won’t drink.
- Verbs that end in -uuna lose the -na: يَذْهَبُونَ → لَنْ يَذْهَبُوا (they will not go).
- لَنْ is strong and firm. You will hear it in promises: لَنْ أَنْسَاكَ (I will never forget you).
