Privacy policy

Last updated: 3 November 2026

Harf is a free website for learning Arabic. This page explains what information is collected when you use it.

What we store

Harf has no accounts and never asks for your name or email. Your progress (letters learned, words known and your best quiz score) is saved only in your own browser, using local storage. It never reaches us, and you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser data.

Audio

Pronunciation is played by your device’s built-in text-to-speech voice. No audio or text is sent to us.

Services we use

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may record technical data such as your IP address for security. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when a page loads. See the GitHub and Google privacy policies for details.

Visitor statistics

Harf uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are most useful. It uses cookies to collect information such as the pages you view, your approximate location and the type of device you use. This information is not used to identify you. You can block it with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or your browser settings.

Advertising

Harf may show ads from Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on those visits. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google’s Ads Settings, and learn more at aboutads.info. Read how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

Children

Harf is suitable for learners of all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
