Lesson 47 · كِتَابَةٌ
Reading, writing, going: the verbal noun
Every verb has a noun for the action itself, like “writing” or “going”: كَتَبَ → كِتَابَةٌ (writing), ذَهَبَ → ذَهَابٌ (going), قَرَأَ → قِرَاءَةٌ (reading). For simple verbs the shape has to be learned, so learn each verb together with its verbal noun.
