Lesson 58 ·
Verbs with hamza:
Verbs with a hamza are mostly regular: Only the seat of the hamza changes with the vowels around it.

Key points
- Three short commands to memorise: كُلْ eat! · خُذْ take!
- With “I” in the present the two hamzas merge into آ: آكُلُ (I eat), آخُذُ (I take).
- The seat follows the vowels: سَأَلَ (on alif) · سُئِلَ (on ya, he was asked) · يَقْرَءُونَ (they read).
